PROGRAM
Children arriving at the Center prior to 8:30 a.m. are served breakfast and then explore the various play centers designed for them.
Our preschool session begins at 9:00 and ends at 11:30 a.m. During this time, children participate in various group activities focusing on language and literacy development, early mathematical concepts, and science exploration. We break for a snack around 10:00 a.m. and then spend 15-20 minutes outdoors. After outdoor play, the children explore the various play centers. At the close of the morning, we gather again to discuss what we learned for the day. On Mondays, children participate in the ABC Music & Me Program by Kindermusik during the last half hour of preschool
We serve lunch to the children present between 11:45 and 12:30. After lunch, the children who are in full-day care have a rest period from 12:30 - 1:00. If they fall asleep, they are allowed to sleep until 2:30 (unless they wake up sooner). We then have an early afternoon snack and spend some more time outdoors. The remainder of the afternoon is spent in the various play centers (i.e. blocks, arts & crafts, sand table, reading, dramatic play), with teachers assisting the children and interacting with them. The children are sometimes treated to a special video on Fridays.
